Who we are

minaki.io and Minaki Scan are operated by MinakiLabs LLC ("we", "us"). In these terms, "you" means the person or organization using the website or the software.

Your license to use Minaki Scan

When you pay for Minaki Scan, we give you a license to install and run it on one server for each license you've paid for, for as long as your subscription is active. The license is yours to use. It isn't transferable, and you may not resell it.

Minaki Scan's core isn't open source. You may not copy, share or redistribute it, except as needed to install and run it on the servers you've licensed. Parts of Minaki Scan may come from others under their own licenses; where they do, those licenses apply to those parts.

Acceptable use

• Only run Minaki Scan on machines you own or administer, or have the owner's permission to check.
• Don't use the website or the software to break the law or to harm anyone else's systems.
• Don't try to get around the license check, or to get access to Minaki Scan without paying for it.
• Don't attack, overload or try to break into minaki.io. If you've found a security problem, see reporting a security problem.

Your responsibilities

• Backups. Keep your own backups of every server you run Minaki Scan on. Minaki Scan saves a copy of what it changes, but that copy isn't a backup of your server.
• Approving fixes. A scan only reads. Minaki Scan changes your server only when you run it with --fix and type yes to a fix. Read each fix before you approve it. You're responsible for the changes you approve and for any commands you run from a report.
• Acting on results. Minaki Scan tells you what it found and what it couldn't check. You decide what to do about it, including whether to rebuild a server.

No warranty

Minaki Scan, the website and the steps in our threat wiki are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. That includes any implied warranty that they're fit for a particular purpose.

In particular, no scanner can prove a server is clean. Minaki Scan may miss a threat, and a cure may not remove every version of a threat. A clean report means its checks found nothing. It isn't a guarantee.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim about the website or Minaki Scan is limited to what you paid us for Minaki Scan in the three months before the claim arose. We aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or business interruption, even if we were told they were possible.

Billing

Sales aren't open yet. This section applies once they are.

• Minaki Scan costs $1 per server per month.
• Your subscription renews each month until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time. After you cancel, your license stays valid until the end of the period you've paid for.

Copyright complaints

We respond to properly formed copyright notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Send notices to our designated agent: Copyright Agent, MinakiLabs LLC, at support@minakilabs.com.

A notice must identify the copyrighted work and the material you say infringes it and where it is, give your contact details, and include two statements: that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized, and that the information in the notice is accurate and you're authorized to act for the owner.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we'll post the new version on this page with a new date. If you keep using the website or Minaki Scan after a change, you accept the updated terms. If you don't accept them, you can stop using Minaki Scan and cancel.
